Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is set in a quiet and safe location down a hutong, offering modern and spacious rooms with nice amenities. The dining options cater well to Chinese visitors but could use improvement in refreshing items promptly. The surroundings feature lots of Chinese shops, which may be a plus or a minus depending on personal preference.
The hotel is located in a very basic neighborhood that is below mediocre for a 4-star hotel in BJ. The rooms were quite small with hardly any space to place your clothes in, but they are very comfortable and well-appointed. The service was friendly, with some hiccups due to changing ownership and technical issues. The dining caters mainly to Chinese visitors and could improve on cleanliness. The facilities are decent but not exceptional for a 4-star hotel in Beijing.
The hotel offers spacious and luxuriously appointed rooms overlooking a traditional hutong, but we encountered issues with the air conditioning that necessitated a room change. The friendly staff were proficient in English and even helped me retrieve a forgotten item. The location, although slightly off-center, provides a glimpse into Beijing's lifestyle, though the surroundings can be unappealing. The dining options, a mix of Chinese and Western fare, may not suit all palates, but the breakfast was varied and well-prepared. Overall, the facilities were satisfactory for my stay.
My stay at the hotel was delightful overall. The rooms were nice, large, and clean, equipped with comfortable seating, a desk area, fridge, and coffee and tea making supplies. The bathrooms were spacious with walk-in showers. However, the glass window between the bedroom and the bathroom was a bit surprising, making the toilet visible to anyone in the main bedroom.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The location was superb in a typical Hutong street of Beijing, offering a glimpse into local life, though the dining options were a bit disappointing with mostly inedible food. The rooms were clean and safe with complimentary bottled water, but the service was hindered by limited English skills and slow response times. Despite some drawbacks, the facilities were decent overall.
